31 July 2003 - Frank Dirscherl, the writer/creator
of The Wraith, has announced the formation of Trinity Comics
to facilitate the publication of his series The Wraith,
which was set to previously be published under the Alliance Comics
banner.
"The split with Alliance Comics is completely amicable," explains Dirscherl. "Due to certain monetary problems Alliance publisher Shane Melton is facing, it became evident the future of The Wraith series lay elsewhere. I consider Shane a great personal friend, and I wouldn't be where I am today without him. I owe him so much, and I know we both wish the best for each others' futures." And what does the future hold for Dirscherl and The Wraith? "Trinity Comics is about the three of us - myself, and artists John Jett and Craig Shepard, thus the significance of the name and logo. I would never have contemplated taking this step without the two of them onboard. They're such huge talents, and The Wraith is nothing without these guys. We're going to make some great comics together," Dirscherl goes on to say.
Trinity Comics will publish several comic books in The Wraith series, featuring a rotating creative team, headed by Dirscherl himself as writer. The Wraith is a character who almost leaps straight from the pages of an old pulp magazine, though it is set in the modern day. The Wraith is millionaire recluse Paul Sanderson by day, dread scourge against evil by night. A superb athlete and hand-to-hand combatant, The Wraith also has one super ability - the power to make evil doers feel the pain of their victims, forcing them to feel potentially years of pain all at once. Pain, guilt and shame are just some of the lifelong results of encountering The Wraith. "Our issues feature the equivalent of 4 issues worth of storylines," Dirscherl outlines. "The first issue highlights the origin of The Wraith... well, I should say our Wraith. You see, our Wraith is a guy called Michael Reeve, a stand up guy, honest, idealistic, loyal. Some might say naive, though I wouldn't. Through tragedy and mysterious mystical forces, Michael Reeve becomes The Wraith in a way I'm sure many readers wouldn't expect. And from then, we see how he copes, and how those around him react to the fact that The Wraith is the same, yet different. Once we establish all that - and we do keep a lot of mystery intact with unanswered questions to tease readers - we then really move along and present some exciting stories of The Wraith combatting evil in Metro City."

Dirscherl concludes, "Our motto here at Trinity is - Where Quality Counts! And we stand by that. Everything we create for our loyal readers will have that thought at the forefront of our minds. Every member of the team, as well as our future cover artists, intend blowing people's socks off with fully realized characters, explosive action, and some great romance. We don't intend to let anyone down with The Wraith."
